Everybody Dance Now

Marley's Jazz Recital 2010
Tonight is Marley's jazz recital. I can't wait to see all of the girls (and boys) dressed up in their cute costumes and perform their hearts out. I really love all of the 3, 4 and 5 year old ballerinas that just stand there because they forgot what to do and the ones that wave out to the audience to their moms in their cute tutus.
Last night was the dress rehearsal so we got some shots of Marley's class doing their run through. This year her costume is a very bright orange color. Makenzie said she looks like a pumpkin or candycorn but I'm going with traffic cone! They all looked very cute!

Springtime.

Spring is here and we have been taking advantage of the nice weather. The kids have been out on the trampoline a lot. It's fun watching them get creative and actually playing all together without fighting! Water balloons were a hit and their newest thing is loading it with tennis balls and seeing how high they can bounce them. They already are working on their tans. Makenzie is darker than I am. I need to get a new swimsuit so I can catch up!

Only 25 days til summer break! I am just as ready as they are. We love to stay up late and sleep in. We will be at the beach a ton this summer so if you call and we're not here, you know where we are!

Happy Spring!

Spring cleaning the trampoline. I think that they got more soap on them than the trampoline!

SKATING!

We went to Kayla's 11th birthday party and had a blast. Marley and Garrett got the hang of it and Kenzie rode the scooter all over the place. I even laced up some skates. It's like riding a bike!

EASTER FUN!

Beautiful Bluebonnets

We have a beautiful patch of bluebonnets by our house that blooms every year. I say we're going to stop and take pictures and before I know it, they are gone. This year was a very full patch because of all the rain that we had. The girls and I went by one day and took some cute shots. A week later we stopped by with Garrett and you can see that they are already dying out. We had fun and got some cute shots!

Kenzie's Purplicious Room

We started Makenzie's room make-over during Spring Break. We negotiated for several weeks on which color to paint it. We finally decided on this pretty purple color called Sassy Lilac. It really reminds me of an Easter basket!

Day 1 of painting

Makenzie showing off her new purple room!

We decided to get rid of her day bed and get a twin bed. Here are the girls helping Dad put it together.

Phase 2: The new do-it-yourself headboard project

Ta-da! Makenzie loves her new room.
It was a lot of fun but Mom and Dad are tired now! Next project...Marley's room!

Garrett turns 9.

Garrett had a month long celebration for his birthday. On his actual birthday, we ate at B&J's Pizza and celebrated with banana cupcakes and PRESENTS!

The following Sunday, we celebrated Garrett and Aunt Tracy's birthday at Bubbas Icehouse. He made out like a bandit! He got the big Lego set he's been wanting and couldn't wait to get home to put it together.
For his birthday party he wanted to see the movie How To Train Your Dragon that was coming out at the end of the month. So we went to McDonalds and then to the movies. The movie was in 3D which was really cool. We all had a great time!

Way to go, Marley!

Marley had her first tennis tournament this weekend. It was so fun to see her out there. She played doubles with her friend Ruthie and played great! They ended up with 1st place for 7th Grade Girls Doubles. It brought back a ton of memories for me. I had a hard time just watching because I wanted to get out there and play too! Now I think that she is really excited and can't wait to play in her next tournament. Way to go girls!

Home is where your story begins.

Garrett's Surf Shack

Our latest home improvement project was turning Garrett's room into a Surf Shack! It was a lot of work but also a ton of fun. We had some mishaps along the way (don't ask about the ceiling fan) but all in all it turned out really great.

The finished product! Garrett was super excited and keeps telling us how much he loves his new room. He said that he has the coolest room in the house.
Now the girls are asking when we are going to paint their rooms! Makenzie has already collected a few paint samples from Lowes. Now we just need to work on Dad!
