Garrett turns 9.

Garrett had a month long celebration for his birthday. On his actual birthday, we ate at B&J's Pizza and celebrated with banana cupcakes and PRESENTS!

The following Sunday, we celebrated Garrett and Aunt Tracy's birthday at Bubbas Icehouse. He made out like a bandit! He got the big Lego set he's been wanting and couldn't wait to get home to put it together.
For his birthday party he wanted to see the movie How To Train Your Dragon that was coming out at the end of the month. So we went to McDonalds and then to the movies. The movie was in 3D which was really cool. We all had a great time!

Way to go, Marley!

Marley had her first tennis tournament this weekend. It was so fun to see her out there. She played doubles with her friend Ruthie and played great! They ended up with 1st place for 7th Grade Girls Doubles. It brought back a ton of memories for me. I had a hard time just watching because I wanted to get out there and play too! Now I think that she is really excited and can't wait to play in her next tournament. Way to go girls!

Home is where your story begins.

Garrett's Surf Shack

Our latest home improvement project was turning Garrett's room into a Surf Shack! It was a lot of work but also a ton of fun. We had some mishaps along the way (don't ask about the ceiling fan) but all in all it turned out really great.

Before pic.

The kids hard at work.

Garrett trying out his new room!

The finished product! Garrett was super excited and keeps telling us how much he loves his new room. He said that he has the coolest room in the house.
Now the girls are asking when we are going to paint their rooms! Makenzie has already collected a few paint samples from Lowes. Now we just need to work on Dad!

Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.

Valentine's Day 2010

We started the day off with a wonderful surprise breakfast! Dad and Garrett made the girls heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream! Yummy! As soon as breakfast was over, the kids were excited to see their Valentine treats. Valentine's wouldn't be complete with out assorted chocolates!

Marley got her new cell phone. Do you think she was surprised? Luckily our cell phone plan has "new every two" and it happened to be just in time for Valentine's Day.

Kenzie got the cutest ladybug nightlight that shines stars on the ceiling. It is very cool. We all lay in her room and look at the moon and stars.

Garrett got Wii Lego Batman. I bought this before Christmas and the week before Valentine's Day he tells me that he wants Lego Batman for Valentine's Day! How do they do that??

Since Henry and I had two days off together (Sunday, Valentine's Day and Monday, President's Day) we decided to tackle a home improvment project. More details to come! We worked really hard all day and decided to go to Whataburger for the Valentine's BOGO Patty Melts. You can tell we've been married for a really long time! It actually turned out to be a really fun day. XOXO

Random.

Woo-woo! Garrett is the Mighty Mariner Student of the Week! 3rd grade is proving to be a great year for him. He's had all A's and has had only 1 card flip (does talking in the cafeteria really count???)! We are so proud of you buddy!

Garrett with his friend Sebastian showing off their all A medals!

Splishin and a splashin! Makenzie having fun in the tub. She is our little fish! She never wants to get out of the tub even though she totally has raisin fingers and toes. She asks weekly if it is time to go to the beach yet.

Sisterly love. Marley is the best big sister ever! She is always doing fun stuff with Makenzie. Here they are doing their mom impression!

New Year...Another Year Older

Is it my birthday already? Seems like I just had one! We had a ton of fun despite the rainy weather. We decided to stay in and order pizza and play my new wii fit plus! I loved watching the kids do the hoola hoop. They swing their hips around to the imaginary hoola hoop. It's VERY entertaining. Marley and Henry got into a hoola hoop contest. I think that he won that night but Marley is now the hoola hoop champ.

It turned into a birthday weekend! Saturday my friends took me out for a FUN girls night out. We need to do that more often!

We ended the weekend with dinner at Wallbangers. Marley made a delicious chocolate cake with YUMMY chocolate icing. I think that she had fun using my new mixer and licking the beaters. I had a great weekend and hopefully my next birthday won't come around so fast!

Christmas Mangum Style

Christmas morning the kids were up at (as Henry would say) o'dark thirty. As you can tell from the pic they are still sleepy! It's a good thing the camera wasn't on us because we REALLY look sleepy. Santa came and brought everyone something that was on their list. Kenzie got her Icecream playdoh (even though she wouldn't tell Santa herself), Garrett got a ton of Legos and Marley got her camera. I guess that it pays to be nice all year!

After our Christmas morning we went over to my moms and had a delicious Christmas dinner and opened more presents! We had a great time visiting with everyone.

We hope that you had a wonderful Christmas holiday! The Mangum Family
